SanDisk 1GB microSD card is the world's smallest flash memory card
Sandisk has announced a 1GB microSD card which is claimed to be the world's smallest flash memory card. Also called as TransFlash, The finger nail sized memory card can store upto 480 songs or 32 hours of music. With most newly introduced high end mobile phones coming with a memory card expansion slot, the need for flash memory has driven companies to introduce cards with capacities which are increasing every day.
Sandisk also announced a 2GB miniSD card. MiniSD cards so far were available with maximum capacity of only 1GB while SD cards are available upto 4GB. With Verizon's V CAST music service going on air, SanDisk has tied up with Verizon to sell memory cards through their retail outlets.
