samsungz560.jpgNo that’s not another phone in the crazy RAZR/KRAZR line up but in fact it’s the new Samsung phone. I know even I did a double take when I looked at the phone since it looked like a long lost cousin of the Moto RAZR family. Anyways let’s see what the new Samsung phone has to offer us.

The new Samsung SGH-Z560 HSDPA phone sports a smart wafer thin clamshell design and is just 16mm thick or shall I say thin. The latest offering by Samsung is not just another pretty face and has some impressive specs on it. For starters, the handset supports 1.8Mbps data throughput and sports a vibrant 2.3” QVGA 262K LCD. In the camera phone crazy world, the Z560 holds its own with its 2 Mega pixel camera with auto focus. There is a music player too on the handset with dedicated external touch music keys.

The Samsung SGH-Z560 has an internal memory of 30MB which can be expanded via a microSD external memory slot. The HSDPA capabilities of the phone would no doubt be welcomed by the consumers. HSDPA is capable of transmitting data at speeds which are up to 7 times faster than WCDMA. This next generation broadband service will in the future let users download multimedia files like DVD-quality movies and interactive multimedia games!

Connectivity options on the handset include Bluetooth® Technology / USB /PictBridge and there is a Document Viewer present too. The phone also has a 1.07” 96x96 65K TFT external screen. Some other features on the handset include: Video Recording & Messaging (MPEG4 / H.263 / Real), Video Telephony & Streaming, Dual Speaker and support for formats like MP3/AAC/AAC+/eAAC+/Real. The handset would first be launched in France and Germany and then the rest of the world. No word on pricing.
