Samsung YP-U2 Flash Digital Audio Player
The 2006 CES saw Samsung unveil a lot of goodies. Among them is the new Samsung YP-U2 flash digital player, a seemingly suitable upgrade to the now-popular YP-U1 player from Samsung's stables.
Formats supported by the player include MP3, OGG and WMA. It's good to see OGG support picking up, with lots of manufacturers opening up to the format. The user is greeted by an inverted monochrome LCD display, which does the job well.
Samsung YP-U2 also includes an FM tuner - great when you want to save on battery and still get your daily dose of entertainment. While the YP-U1 sported a hinged USB plug, it's missing on this model.
Available in 512MB (US $99) and 1GB ($129), with 2GB model in the works, the included voice recorder functionality is useful. Access Samsung's website for details.
