Samsung T709 - WiFi/UMA Connectivity Phone For The U.S. Market
One of the models announced by Samsung for the U.S market at CTIA Wireless 2006 trade show in LasVegas, is a new slider phone called the Samsung T709. The T709 should please T-Mobile users as it's one of several upcoming phones from the carrier that support WiFi.
The Samsung T709 is a tri-band GSM 850/1800/1900 MHz phone with EDGE capabilities, it is one of the first phones in the U.S. to feature Wi-Fi and Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) technologies. The phone boasts of a fairly slim slider design and features a 262k colour 262K-color TFT screen. It is powered by a 1.3 MegaPixel camera with a digital zoom and capable of 1280 x 960 px images. Consumers can now travel between their home, office or public wireless LAN locations with virtually no data interruptions, meaning fewer glitches when downloading content, surfing the wireless Internet or watching streaming video.
