Samsung SGH-P900 DMB PhoneSamsung's turning into a behemoth. At the 3GSM World Congress, Samsung stamped its authority in the mobile TV category by unveiling a line-up of seven handsets covering the entire gamut of mobile broadcasting platforms. Terrestrial DMB (T-DMB), Satellite DMB (S-DMB), DVB-H, and Media FLO - you name it and Samsung's got a solution for you. As far as we know, Samsung is currently in talks with mobile network operators in Europe, the United States, and China to launch these services in 2006. Samsung hopes to replicate the sweet success it tasted in the Korean market.

Two models in particular are being targeted at the European market: the Samsung SGH-P900, which we were raving about last week and the Samsung SGH-P910.

The Samsung SGH-P900 is Europe’s first T-DMB (Terrestrial Digital Media Broadcasting) phone. The P900 is successfully in operation as part of ongoing field trials in Germany and France. Samsung has plans to commercially launch the P900 in Q2 of 2006, just before the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. The P910, on the other hand, is Samsung's newest DVB-H model.

Read the extended entry for a quick feature list of the SGH-P900 and the SGH-P910 and a lowdown on the other five models.
