Samsung SGH-D820 Cell PhoneSamsung announced the SGH-D820, a quad-band slider cell phone for GSM networks. While not as thin as the SGH-D800, the SGH-D820 is also slender at just 15.2mm depth. The USP of this phone, however, lies in its wide array of multimedia functions.

The D820 comes with 73MB of internal memory, but the best part is the MicroSD slot. While it's not clear what storage capacity drives will be supported, this is definitely good news for those looking for a D800 alternative.

The SGH-D820 also features a 2.12" 240x320 TFT LCD capable of 262k colors. The audio player supports MP3, AAC and AAC+ (just to take a bit of your fun away, WMA support has been stripped off). But it does come with dual stereo speakers and voice recognition, pushing its weight to 103 grams. Another interesteing feature is the TV-out with this phone.

Europe will be seeing this in Q4 2005. More information about the Samsung SGH-D820 cell phone is available from Samsung's website.
