Samsung SGH-D520 Cell Phone
Sometime back, we reported that the Samsung SGH-D520 was approved by the FCC. We had promised additional details and so, here we are again.
Samsung announced the availability of the Samsung SGH-D520 cell phone in European and Southeast Asian markets starting this month. The D520 is a slim phone from Samsung and is compatible with tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz) networks. A slider, the D520 comes in a stylish contoured design measuring just 101 x 46 x 15.9 (mm).
While they could've put in a 2 megapixel camera, Samsung seems to have taken a step back and included a 1.3 megapixel camera on the D520. But the screen is pretty good - a rich 2.12" QVGA screen capable of displaying 262k colors. Then again, it's a slider bound to be appealing to a lot of people's tastes.
The SGH-D520 offers up to 80MB of user-accessible memory for storing important documents or throw in a couple of songs (it's got a USB 1.1 interface). A multimedia phone, it includes a music player capable of handling MP3/AAC/AAC+/e-AAC+/WMA formats. A neat feature of the phone is its support for Bluetooth stereo headsets. If you have a Bluetooth printer, you can take advantage of wireless printing support offered by the phone.
The phone is GPRS-compatible, so you can easily get online. Weighing just 93 grams, details on the Samsung SGH-D520 cell phone are available from Samsung's website.
