Samsung SC-D965 MiniDV Camcorder
More Samsung camcorders. This time, it's the Samsung SC-D965 MiniDV camcorder in their Mega range. The Mega signifies that the CCD used is a 1.1 megapixel CCD. Hey, who are we to argue with Samsung's naming conventions?
The Samsung SC-D965 camcorder is a slightly higher-end model compared to the D963. Of course, it still uses the same 1.1 megapixel CCD, but the preview LCD is bigger, a 2.7" wide color LCD. Videos can be recorded in MPEG4 format, but don't bet on the built-in memory for that, since you only get 64MB. Thankfully, the D965 also includes a 4-in-1 Multi Memory Slot which can take in SD/MMC/Memory Stick/Memory Stick Pro formats.
You can shoot digital still pictures at 1152x864 pixel resolution. The camcorder offers true 16:9 wide mode. When this is selected to shoot videos, they can be played back on a compatible digital TV without image distortion. The Stereo Enhancement feature creates a noticeable divide between left and right channels.
