Samsung NV7 Digital Camera -OPS
Make way for the all-new Samsung NV7 OPS 7 megapixel digital camera. Claimed as a breakthrough in camera design, the NV7 OPS boasts of 7x optical zoom in a camera that's just 0.8" thick. How they fit it in, I'll never know.
One of the neatest features on the NV7 OPS is the presence of both Optical Picture Stabilization, which physically adjusts the CCD in the case of camera movement, and Advanced Shake Reduction for a steady shot all the time.
Another interesting feature, never before seen, is the touch pad GUI for the camera. No more rotary dials that you are used to; simply slide your finger on the preview LCD and get your job done. Shoot videos at 30 fps in VGA resolution (640x480 pixels), and simplify your job by editing them on the camera itself.
Thanks to Digimax Reader text recognition software bundled with the camera, you can take photos of books, papers and other written material and convert them back to text on the PC. Several scene modes (11 in total) are available, including Night, Children, Close-Up, Sunset and Backlight.
A bit pricey at US $449.99, the Samsung NV7 OPS will be an interesting addition to your kit. Releasing this fall,
"We worked closely with our designers to develop a long-zoom camera that would fit within the lifestyle of today's style-conscious consumer and came up with the slim-bridge design," says Stewart Henderson, National Marketing Manager at Samsung Opto-Electronics. "As part of the NV Series, this model is sleek, compact and includes important features like optical picture stabilization in a package that can be easily slipped into a purse or pocket."
