Samsung Digimax L85 Digital Camera
The Samsung Digimax L85 is yet another dig cam on display at the annual PMA. This new camera is the world's first camera with High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI). HDMI is a ground breaking technology which lets the user share their images on a high definition TV screen in their original quality. The Samsung L85 includes an 8MP image sensor and incorporates the famous Schneider Kreuznach 7.8?23.44mm lens with 5x optical zoom. The L85 also has a 2.5-inch LCD display for vibrant and easy viewing.
The L85 is a highly stylized camera and features a great ergonomic design. It also contains multiple manual functions for the user who likes to be in control and not an amateur. The manual exposure control includes Aperture Priority for depth of field, Shutter Priority for high motion shots and Manual adjustment for full aperture and shutter settings. There is also a Continuous Shooting mode for consecutive shots Auto Exposure Bracketing to shoot consecutive images with different exposure. Mpeg-4 compression which have recording times longer than an average dig cam is also incorporated. There is what Samsung calls the Movie Stabilizer which re educe camera shake by mechanical detection and correction of lateral and vertical camera vibrations.
The L85 features 11 scene modes including Night Scene, Portrait, Children, Landscape, Close-up, Sunset, Dawn, Backlight, Fireworks, Beach & Snow and Text Recognition. Text Recognitions lets users shoots documents like books, word files etc something which has not been seen before. Other special effects include Color Effect, Highlight and Photo Frame. An improved Graphic User Interface results in easy and smoother navigation and the L85 has a built in memory of 32MB and is bundled with Samsung’s exclusive "Digimax Reader" software.
