Another new camera to makes it debut recently is the 6.36 Megapixel Rollei dx63 Tribute digital compact camera. This new camera includes a 3 inch LTPS TFT color display, a 3x optical zoom and a 4x digital zoom. The dx63 is the latest addition in the company’s Tribute series and is housed in a chic black metal casing.

The Rollei dx63 digicam has an f/2.6 - f/4.8 3x optical zoom lens with a focal length of 5.8 - 17.4mm (equivalent of 35 - 105mm on 35mm format camera) and the auto mode seamlessly complements the TTL measurement and is effective from 0.5m to infinity. This point and shoot camera includes some user friendly settings like Fine, normal and basic. Those who want more from their pictures can also work around onboard settings like Auto, On, Fill-in, Red-eye reduction, Off and Slow synch flash. White Balance includes the standard Sun, Cloudy, Incandescent, Fluorescent and Manual and Metering modes include centre weighting, spot metering and matrix metering.

Like all the digicams in the current crop, this one too has a movie mode where movie clips can be recorded with a VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) at 30 frames per second or 320 x 240 pixels. Another handy feature is the self timer which can be set to 5, 10 and 20 seconds. Then onboard USB 2.0 interface ensures fast transfers and the camera has an onboard memory of 32MB.
