R.I.P Dell DJ Mp3 Players
Dell introduced the mp3 players in 2003 to unseat the IPOD and to capture the ever growing digital market. According to the Dell spokesmen Liem Nguyen "We saw an opportunity to streamline and consolidate our portfolio. "We made a decision to transition from the hard-drive products to flash players at the beginning of this year."
Though shocking to some, this has hardly surprised the trade pundits. Every MP3 Manufacturer has the Herculean task of competing with Apple and then ultimately failing. The iPod accounted for 69 percent of all music players sold from January through November in the U.S., according to NPD Group Inc. in Port Washington Since the introduction in October 2001, Apple has sold 42.2 million devices.
