Plustek OpticSlim M12 Plus Portable Scanner
Plustek has come out with the new Plustek OpticSlim M12 Plus portable scanner that builds on its lineage. It has all the features of the old Plustek M12 and in addition it can now scan full legal-sized documents and create PDFs with a touch of the scan button.
The M12 Plus is a bus-powered device. So there's no power cable to carry around. It's light-weight, slim, and compact - perfect for mobile scanning needs. This sheet-fed scanner is capable of 600 dpi and 48-bit color and can scan up to three pages per minute. Connection to your laptop is via USB 1.1 - quite surprising given the ubiquitous adoption of USB 2.0.
The package includes a scanner mount kit (includes a holder and mounting hardware. Mount the scanner on the wall to save space - the scanner is fully functional while mounted!), a carrying pouch, and a base stand (to save desktop space when the scanner is not in use). A calibration sheet and a sensor cleaning paper are also bundled.
The Plustek OpticSlim M12 Plus can be bought off Plustek's website or at select retail outlets. It will set you back by US$179.
