PLANon DocuPen RC800 Color Handheld Scanner
Who says that scanners have to be big and flat? Technology has improved so much that you can now carry a 24-bit color scanner in your pocket. That's exactly what the newly announced PLANon DocuPen RC800 is. It's remarkably light and compact. In 4 seconds the RC800 can scan a full page including text and graphics. It's different from the competition in that other handheld and pen scanners only scan single lines of text or record handwriting and some scanners need to be attached to your computer. The RC800 overcomes these limitations.
You can scan your letters, color documents, pictures and bring them into Paperport software (included with the Docupen). Modes provided include black and white, standard color or high 24bit color at resolutions from 100 to 400 dpi. The RC800 is capable of storing 100's of pages into memory. If that's not enough there's an expandable MicroSD memory slot as well.
The DocuPen RC800 comes in a range of colors. Take your pick from Blue Streak, Crimson Pearl, Kook White, Antique Brown, Lavender Frost, or Silver Smoke. It can be yours for US$299.99.
