060615_4.jpgPhilips has added four more MP3 Players in their GoGear Series. They are the 1GB and 2GB (SA9100, SA9200) Flash based players along with the 8GB and 30GB disk (HDD1850, HDD6330) players sharing space. All the players will showcase the same intuitive and sleek design one associates with the GoGear series and as you might have guessed by now, the main difference lies in the capacities. According to Philips SA9100 and SA9200 can store 500 songs or 2502 pictures and 1,000 songs or up to 500 pictures respectively. However those with bigger needs can opt for the HDD1850 which can store up to 4,000 songs or 2,500 pictures or HDD6330 which can hold up to 15,000 songs or 8,400 pictures.

While some may say that the players bear an uncanny resemblance to the iPod, I for one love the sleek and contemporized design. The backlit sensory touchpad and the SuperScrollâ„¢ system makes navigation a breeze and highly fun. The player apart from playing MP3 and WMA music also is able to view photographs. My only gripe being the lack of FLAC and OGG support. The GoGear players are easily able to organize music in artist, album, genre and play lists and images can be viewed as thumbnails or in full screen mode.

The players have a FM Radio too which no doubt gives it an edge over the iPod and all the models have a battery life of more than 12 hours. The players carry the PlaysForSure logo and users can download music from a number of stores.

Philips GoGear HDD1850 available now for $249 (8GB Disk)
