Peugeot 207 EPURE At the Paris Motor Show
Later this month, at the Paris Motor Show; Peugeot will reveal the futuristic “207 EPURE†concept vehicle.
This concept car is powered by an electric motor combined with PSA Peugeot Citroën Group’s new “GENEPAC 20†20 kW experimental fuel cell, which designed in partnership with the French AEC (Atomic Energy Commission), will bring a whole new level of innovation to the driving field.
The, GENEPAC 20 consists of two modules each with a stack of thin plates and an
assembly of electrode membranes that allows for simple gauging of the cell’s power.
Five cylinders, located at the bottom of the vehicle’s boot(containing 3 kg of hydrogen compressed to 700 bar),provide the electric motor and the lithium-Ion battery with a vast range of power. The use an electric motor allows the 207 EPURE to consume energy only when in motionand to save energy during phases of deceleration. This fuel cell system offers a level of efficiency in excess of 50 % versus 25 to 30 %for an internal combustion engine. It is also virtually silent.
What about the pace?
Maximum speeds reach 130 km/h (that’s 81 mph) with 0 to 100 km/h (s) in 15 seconds.
The combination of the fuel cell and the electric power gives the “207 EPUREâ€a considerable range of around 218 miles.
Pearl white exterior, leather, and touches of absinthe green, accentuate the dreamy higher state this car was designed to fall into.
Pleasure and eco awareness unite as the 207; emits only water.
