OptioW10.lg.jpgPentax Imaging has given the “Waterproof and Lifeproof - Yet Elegant” to the W10 and from the looks of it, they stand correct. The Pentax Optio W10 is suited to the T for the adventurous and the thrill seekers. This compact and sleek camera to further validate its creditentials has been given JIS Class 8 waterproof and JIS Class 5 dustproof ratings thus leaving no doubts in anyone’s mind about its performance. It boasts of a 6MP CCD and an inspiring 3X zoom for incredible image quality and upto 0.36 inch macro shots. 15,000 pixel 2.5 inch low reflection LCD monitor is a great addition and is perfect for anytime use even at bright sunny days. When talking about the battery as usual Pentax doesn’t disappoint and also includes a Power saving mode to extend the battery life.

The Pentax Optio W10 is a high performing camera and just takes about 0.6 second to start and has a 0.05 second shutter lag producing great action based shots. It also has the famous Pentax Tracking AF and features the Ultra-fast 9-point Auto focus .Another unique function is that the portrait mode combines ace priority AF with Face priority auto-exposure for faultless results. It can capture high quality video at about 30fps in quick time format making it a multifunctional digital tool. Other standard features include TTL Multi-segment metering; Sensitivity - Auto, or User select ISO 64, 100, 200, 400, 800 (Candle mode only) and Auto, Pre-set, Manual white balance Available Settings.


It has a built in memory of 10 MB which can also be expanded by SD cards and monaural recording also depends on the capacity of the memory. It lacks a viewfinder but the LCD makes up for it. The Pentax Optio W10 also runs on Rechargeable Lithium-ion D-LI8 battery and one can also by an optional AC adapter. No word on availability but it is priced under $300.
