Panasonic Toughbook CF-74 Semi-Rugged Notebooks
The Panasonic Toughbook CF-74 just got tougher! Well sort of as the notebook now has a built-in support for the 3G UMTS/HSDPA BroadbandConnect Service from Cingular using Novatel Wireless’ Embedded Module. This in the Queen’s language means that Cingular subscribers can achieve Internet speeds of 400-700 kilobits per second (kbps), with bursts to more than one megabit per second (mbps).
A part of the semi-rugged Toughbook Series, the CF-74 lives upto its legacy with its magnesium alloy casing and its rock-solid built. It has the Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo Processor T2400 under its tough exterior and a shock mounted and removable 80GB HD. Known as the Ultimate Road Warrior, the notebook also claims 7 hours of battery life and RAM can be expanded till 4GB.
The Panasonic Toughbook CF-74 weighs a hefty 5.95 lbs and is equipped with a 460 Nit daylight-readable TFT Active Matrix Color LCD with Touchscreen. Other connectivity options also include seamless connectivity to local networks and optional Bluetooth technology. Some other features found on the notebook include; cable lock slot, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) v.1.2 security chip, optional finger print scanner, optional SmartCard reader, Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Professional SP2 and Combo Drive (DVD-ROM/CD-R/RW) standard.
