Panasonic Japan has just unveiled another notebook which would for now exclusively be for the Japanese consumers. The newest addition to the YF series, the CF-Y5KW8AXR claims to be “waterproof” and is the perfect combination of style and substance. It incorporates all the latest technologies out there like Intel(R) Centrino(R) Duo Mobile technology and is also compatible with the next generation Windows Vista.

The Y5 notebook may look pretty but basically is part of the popular Panasonic Toughbook series. Thus according to Panasonic, this baby can survive falls; water spills and other vagaries of life. It includes a 14.1 inch SXGA+ liquid crystal (1400×1050 dot) display and the state of the art Mobile Intel(R) 945GMS Express chip set for giving customers the ultimate viewing pleasure. For high end usage and functionality, Panasonic has also incorporated the latest Intel(R) the Core Duo processor L2300 (1.50GHz) and Windows XP Edition With SP2.The notebook come with 512MB of memory which can of course be further expanded according to individual needs.

Some other configurations found on the notebook include; Super multiple drive with built-in
DVD-R/+R,) DVD-RAM, DVD-R and DVD-RW, +R and +RW. The drive of course also reads and records CD-R andCD. Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network, 60GB HD, SD memory card slot, LAN, built-in Stereo speaker and a Video memory of 128MB. No details on availability or pricing yet but IM sure that this little gem will be released in Europe and the US pretty soon.
