Panasonic AJ-HPC-2000 CamcorderIf you're in the world of broadcasting, Panasonic has a slew of goodies on offer for you, in its line-up of P2 HD family. Starting with the 2/3" AJ-HPC2000, a shoulder-mount camcorder (currently available), it offers an affordable HD camcorder.

Implementing the 3CCD system coupled with 14-bit A/D processing, the AJ-HPC2000 comes with a HD-progressive 2/3" CCD that can record in 720p, 1080i or 480i with a special emphasis on low-light recording. With five P2 slots, and hot-swapping capability, you are all set for continuous recording.

With each P2 card providing 8GB, and a total of 5 such cards, you can record up to 40 minutes of full HD quality video. Other recording options include loop record and pre-record. An SD card slot is also available - useful when you want to replicate setup information in multi-camera productions.

Targeted for a Q1 2007 release, the Panasonic AJ-HPC2000 camcorder carries a price tag of US $27,000. Access Broadcastbuyer.tv.
