Oregon Scientific ATC-1000 Hands-Free Action Sport VideocamThis might be the holiday gift to get this year folks - Oregon Scientific has announced the new ATC-1000 Action Camera - a hands free digital camera/helmet cam that is capable of taking still shots or video recordings. Recordings are stored on the ATC-1000's 32 MB of internal memory or on SD cards which can store up to 1GB of data.

What's exciting about the ATC-1000 is the many ways a person can use this camera. You can mount it on your bike; on your helmet; on your car; heck - on your foot for all we care! Use it to capture moments that you normally wouldn't use a camcorder or camera for. The ATC-1000 is capable of recording video at resolutions from 160 x 120 to 640 x 480. Still pictures can be taken automatically using a 10 second delay timer or by selecting the continuous shutter feature which takes three consecutive photos. http://www.oregonscientific.com/eng/

Other features include:

  • Wireless, compact design
  • TV cable for instant replay on the big screen and USB for easy uploads
  • PC compatible Action Lab software – edit still images or video
  • Strap to a helmet, handle-bar, arm or leg

You can easily transfer the images and recordings onto your PC via an included USB cable. The camera is powered by four AAA batteries and will go for $119.99. I might just have to get one for Christmas now.
