Olympus E-400 DSLR Digital Camera
Olympus has gone ahead and released the “World’s Smallest and Lightest DSLRâ€! Personally I belong to the old school of thinking when it comes to photography and do believe that a camera body should offer a good grip! The Canon 350D has always been criticized for its small body and thus wonder if Olympus made the right decision. While the ‘world’s smallest tag may be dismissed as a gimmick, however that doesn’t mean the E-400 is a turkey. In fact the DSLR has some great features to offer!
For starters the new Olympus E-400 has a 10 megapixel resolution which means that it can hold its own against the Nikon D80 and Canon 400D. The DSLR is based on the 4/3rds Standard and in Olympus in conjunction has also released two new lenses; Zuiko Digital 14-42mm 1:3.5-5.6 ED (pictured above) and a Zuiko Digital 40-150mm 1:4-5.6 ED . One think I like about the DSLR is the inclusion of a Supersonic Wave Filter which protects the CCD and keeps dust particles at bay.
The Olympus E-400 is equipped with a 2.5 inch LCD monitor and includes 31 special shooting modes like Fireworks, Landscapes, Macro, and Sunsets. It has the TruePic TURBO image processor under its hood which is known for producing superior and vibrant images. Thanks to the Four Thirds Standard one is able to choose from a wide range of digital lenses and accessories and not worry about compatibility issues.
The DSLR also includes some nifty features like with up to five images in RAW buffer, Depth of field preview function, JPEG & RAW recording, AF-lock functionality, Exposure Bracketing function and One touch white balance. For now the DSLR should be available onto to our European friends and pricing hasn’t been announced as of now. For more details Visit Olympus.
