n80_09_low-sm.jpgCashing in on the success of the N80 phone, Nokia recently announced a way for internet users to interact with some of the web's favorite services even while they are away from their PC's, in a pocketable, easy to use N80 Internet Edition phone. The Phone comes packed with a host of other internet services, which were not previously installed together on Nokia devices.

What Nokia people have managed is stuff the old N80 with full of new range softwares like Yahoo Go for Mobile, Flickr, some Amazon-branded goodies, Nokia's enhanced web browser, improved app management through a "Download!" client, and most importantly, SIP-compliant VoIP, all making full use of the N80's Wi-Fi support.

The Nokia N80 Internet Edition brings together wireless LAN (WLAN), a robust browser and also support for internet calls. This Quad-band phone retains some of the specs like 3-MegaPixel camera, quadband GSM WCDMA coverage along with an easy to use WLAN wizard (to make connecting to the internet easy). Perhaps the disappointing thing though is despite the consumers get a quad-band GSM in the new N80 Internet edition, no UMTS 850 or 1900 is in the cards still. The Nokia N80 Internet Edition comes in two stylish colors, patina bronze and pearl black, and is expected to be available from mid-September 2006.
