Nokia continues to push the boundaries of mobile phone technologies at CES 2007 with the release of its new Nokia N800 Internet Tablet, calling it a "next generation widescreen Nokia Nseries multimedia computer."

Based on Nokia's Linux based Table Operating System, the N800 will allow heavy use of Internet applications such as Internet calling, instant messaging, and email as well as the downloading/streaming of multimedia content.

An improvement of the previously release Nokia 770 Internet Tablet the Nokia N800 promises faster performance, a touch screen qwerty keyboard, an integrated web camera, and support for both WiFi and Bluetooth. Being part of the Nseries also means a more elegant design.

The Nokia N800 is available immediately in the United States and selected markets in Europe at about $399.

Another photo and technical specs after the bump.

At CES 2007 Nokia is demonstrating new features of the N800 including the enhanced navigation with new software called Navicore. The N800 also takes advantage of a number of popular services such as Real Network's Rhapsody network. An exciting announcement also has been a development cooperation with Skype - in the future users might be able use the N800 as a skype phone.

The phone is really aimed at maximizing Internet technologies and its application in people's lives. According to Ari Virtanen, Vice President, Convergence Products, Multimedia, Nokia, "as the Internet becomes an ever more integral part of daily life, Nokia N800 has been designed to offer quick and convenient access to your favorite Internet services regardless of location."
