Nokia 5500 Sporty Cell Phone Approved for the USNokia's sporty little smartphone, the Nokia 5500, has just got the nod from the FCC. With a new rugged design and great looks, the phone features a microSD slot for expanding available phone memory. It includes an XHTML browser, a digital music player supporting MP3, WMA, AAC and eAAC+ formats and enhanced voice dialing and voice commands.

The Nokia 5500 offers some serious competition to the just announced Sony Ericsson W710 sports phone. The sports mode on the 5500 includes exercise monitoring, pedometer, an exercise diary and exercise program planner. A 2-megapixel camera with video recording capability has also been thrown in.

It looks like the phone is on track for Q3 of 2006, retailing for €300. Checkout the Nokia 5500 Cell Phone.
