Nikon-coolpix-S7.jpgNikon is sure churning out cameras like there is no tomorrow! The COOLPIX S7c, S7 and S8 are the latest digicams (we promise, there is more to come) and have some similar attributes like an ultra slim look, a 7.1 effective megapixel resolution and a 35-105mm (35mm equivalent). Nikon believes that these latest cameras from its stables are versatile enough to cover any photographic situation!

However there are some differences between the digicams. For starters while the COOLPIX S7c and S7 boast of a 3 inch LCD, the S8 has to make do with a 2.5 inch LCD. Then there is the Coolpix S7c which is a step ahead of its cousin as this one has built-in IEEE 802.11b/g LAN support. Thus via its wireless capabilities one can transfer images from a camera to a PC or vice versa quite easily. Looks like the S7c is the brightest of the lot as it also features Nikon’s all-new COOLPIX CONNECT service shoot images and then send them to friends all over in few seconds. Oh and the best part is that this service is free!

All three cameras have some great features which one generally associates with Nikon. All of them feature One-touch portrait button which lets one access three Nikon exclusive features. Face-priority AF which automatically detects the face in a frame and the focus accordingly. In-Camera Red-Eye Fix which combats the horrid red eye effect and D-Lighting which enhances shots taken in bad lightening or with too much backlight.

The Nikon COOLPIX S7c, S7 and S8 lets you be creative and make your own slideshows with audio via the Pictmotion function. Another innovative and new function is the Stop-motion movie function which creates pro animated movies. To make sure that the consumer gets utmost functionality form this new line up, the S8 comes with the COOL-STATION MV-14 and the COOLPIX S7c and S7 come with the COOL-STATION MV-15. These cradles recharge the batteries and via the onboard USB port can be hooked up to a TV. Nikon is really in a generous mood as the COOLPIX S8 comes bundled with the Dock Insert PV-10 and the COOLPIX S7c and S7 with Dock Insert PV-11. Via these one can directly print images in conjunction with ImageLink-compatible printers. No word on pricing or availability and for more info visit Nikon
