New Sony Vaio Notebooks
Sony Japan has today added a number of notebooks in its popular Vaio series. However as of now they would be only available in Japan and the rest of us will just drool from a distance! All the laptops would be extremely feature rich and Sony has incorporated all the latest technologies present today.
The first in line is the Sony Vaio F series which include the models VGN-FE90PS1 and VGN-FE90PS2. Both feature a crystal clear 15.4 WXGA display and have a special anti reflection coating for easy viewing even outdoors. Extremely sleek and trendy, the notebooks only weigh around 2.8kg and is 28mm thin. Some of the specs may be configured according to the users need like a DVD±RW (DVD+R2 layer record correspondence) drive. It comes with a built in 8.4GHz/5GHz (IEEE802.11a/b/g) wireless LAN and also includes a Web camera which is loaded onto liquid crystal top which Sony calls MOTION EYE.
The VGN-FE90PS1 is powered on a Intel Core Solo processor T1300 (1.66GHz) and the VGN-FE90PS2 on the Intel Celeron M processor 420 (1.60 GHz).They feature the renowned Intel 945GM Express chip set and have a high end security feature too. It comes preloaded with Windows OS and Norton Anti-virus. Some other configurations include I.LINK (IEEE1394) S400 (4 pins) ×1, Hi-Speed USB (USB2.0) (high/full/low speed correspondence) ×3, Headphone output (stereo and mini- jack) ×1, Bluetooth functional built-in and Memory stick PRO Duo, high-speed data transfer and magic gate correspondence.
After the F series, it is the turn of the Sony Vaio S series which includes the following models VGN-SZ81PS1, VGN-SZ81PS2, VGN-SZ81PS3A, and VGN-SZ81PS4. The VGN-SZ81PS1 would be powered by The Intel Core Duo processor T2300 while others in the series would feature The Intel Core Solo processor T1300. All of them contain the latest technologies which makes these laptops extremely functional and highly cutting edge. They also feature the G Motion Sensor which on motion or a fall moves the hard disks to the evacuation area instantaneously, preventing the damage to the hard disk.The notebooks are a treat for hard core gamers too as they contains the hybrid graphic system which features the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 with NVIDIA TurboCach and the Intel graphic media accelerator 950 chip.
The Sony notebooks in the S series come preloaded with the Norton Internet Security Suite and Windows XP OS. There is a very handy privacy filter which at a touch of a button reduces the display which becomes difficult to view from a distance. The notebooks also feature two graphical modes, the SPEED mode which shows power in the 3D game and hi-vision video compilation and the STAMINA mode which lower downs electric power consumption. Like all Vaio notebooks this series also doesn’t disappoint when it comes to design. Extremely sleek and stylish, the body is made of aluminum with a corrosion resistance coating.
The VGN-SZ81PS1, SZ81PS2 and SZ81PS3A include a built in DVD supermultipledrive which is optional in the SZ81PS4. The S series features a 3.3 Type wide WXGA (1280×800) TFT color liquid crystal display and includes configurations like Hi-Speed USB (USB2.0) (high/full/low speed correspondence) ×2 , I.LINK (IEEE1394) 4 pin ×1, Network (LAN) connector (100BASE-TX/10BASE-T) ×1, External display output, Headphone output, Network (LAN) connector, 2.4/5GHz wireless LAN (built-in) and Built-in (Bluetooth Ver2.0+EDR conformity).
