image02.jpgI-O Data has just rolled out its new HD compatible external Hard Disk in the form of RHD-UX320/UX520, available in capacities ranging from 320GB to 500GB and the enclosure has both USB 2.0 and eSATA ports. What more intriguing about it is the fact that it is an external drive which lets you just swap the hard disk in your PC with a NAS and external reader and fits your bill at the same time as well.

The new I-O Data makes use of the PowerX/Hard Disk Manager 7.0, which helps the user to manage the files and as well as use it as a bootable drive. eSATA connection is possible by the fact that you utilize the eSATA interface board “ESA-PCI” for the PCI bus or the eSATA interface board “ESA-PEX” for the PCI Express bus. Running at 7200 rpm, you can be rest assured of the high access and transfer speeds. Also the USB2.0 ensures for high transfer speeds upto 75MB/s, which is twice the speed of a conventional drive.

The new I-O Data UX320/500 will be available in December for Japanese market and will be priced at 23,00 and 49,800 Yen respectively, which is appox around 200$ and 433$.
