Nintendo has a few goodies in store for the upcoming version of the DS game console. First the lighter version of Nintendo DS coming out in Japan sometime soon.

Then, existing DS owners can look forward to a free sampling of DS-compatible games simply by visiting their local retailers. Nintendo seems to be going all out to push the new version, and not taking any chances.

You will also be able to wirelessly download games and new movie trailers from DS download stations in retail outlets across the US and Canada. Also check for VoIP support in Metroid Prime Hunters, a massive FPS game coming for the DS console. All this was announced by Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime, executive VP of sales and marketing.
