skype_phone.jpgWi-fi phones are predicted to be the next big thing. I'am no Nostradamus so for now I’ll refrain from commenting on this however the Netgear SPH101 Skype Wi-Fi Phone sure looks good. It is the world’s first wireless Internet phone which lets you make free calls (yes free!) to any Skype user around the world. The best part being that you don’t need a PC and all you need is wi-fi access like in a home, office, cafe, open public hotspot etc.

While calls to skype users are free of charge you can also call non-skype users by paying a small amount. It comes preloaded with skype software and you just have to enter your username and password to get started. It will be available from June 30, 2006 and has been spotted on amazon.com. The phone carries a price tag of 299$.
