Another ultra-portable notebook series to grace us with its presence is the new NEC VERSA L1100 series which promises to be the perfect blend of functionality and mobility. Don’t know if this claims holds up but let’s just dig a little deeper and see what it’s all about. All the models in the series will sport a 13.1” WXGA widescreen LCD display at a resolution of 1280 x 768. The viewing pleasure will further be enhanced according to the company thanks to its proprietary Super Shine View Technology.

This series too will boast of the VERSA technology which has carved its niche for delivering performance and durability. Connectivity options include built-in Intel Pro Wireless 2200BG Network Connection, integrated 10/100 Mbps LAN for broadband and network access, a 56K modem for dial-up Internet access, and three USB 2.0 ports and one IEEE-1394 port. The notebook preloaded with genuine Windows XP Home Edition and includes Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, Microsoft Outlook Express 6.0, Norton Antivirus, Acrobat Reader, CyberLink PowerCinemaâ„¢, RecordNow, Master CD Creator and Smart Restore.

These days users just don’t want just performance and demand style too. Looks like NEC didn’t make any mistake on that front as the series sport an elegant latch less LCD panel design and the ‘Click’ feature alerts users if the notebook has been shut correctly. The VERSA L1100 notebook series are available in both Intel Celeron M Processor and Intel Pentium M processor based on Intel Centrino Mobile Technology. The series is capable of supporting up to 2GB DDR RAM; 128MB shared system memory for graphics and up to a 100GB hard drive.
