NEC N500iS Ultra-Thin Cell Phone
A week ago, we told you that NEC was planning something big at the 3GSM World Congress. Well, NEC has just come out with an official statement saying so.
The product in the spotlight is NEC's new ultra-thin cell phone, the N500iS. The N500iS is reported to be the world's thinnest 2.5g fold-type camera-phone. It's 2mm thinner than the Motorola v3. A quick read of the specifications says:

- 1.9" 65k 176x220 pixels color TFT LCD
- OLED External Display
- 1.3 Megapixel camera
- 64 polyphonic melodies
- MP3 / AAC music player
- MPEG4 video playback
- Supports JAVA

- SMS / EMS / MMS
- USB connectivity
- Bluetooth
- 32MB internal memory
It can do high-speed and real-time video streaming. Pricing and availability are of course not available right now. That information and potential markets being targeted should become clearer soon after the show.
