NEC LaVie TNEC is introducing a new audio video notebook called the NEC LaVie T LT900. The LaVie emphasizes picture quality with the inclusion of a dedicated hardware MPEG2 decoder. You get powerful audio using NEC's SoundVu technology and the entire package can be controlled through the included remote control.

The NEC LaVie T LT900 includes a hardware MPEG2 decoder which will free the CPU to do other important background tasks. The widescreen laptop also includes a video scaler which can easily convert 4:3 formats into 16:9 widescreen formats.

Other great features for the LaVie T include a built in dual layer, dual format DVD burner and a huge whopping 160GB storage space. The 160GB actually spans two drives (similar to how Toshiba offers storage capacities in Qosmio laptops). You can get upgrades to 240GB capacities as well.

The LaVie T uses an Intel Pentium M processor model 740 and uses high performance DDR2 memory. Couple that with easy one touch multimedia buttons on the laptop, and you'll get a multimedia powerhouse with the NEC LaVie T LT900. The new laptop should be available in Japan starting in late November.
