NEC HSDPA GSM PhoneHSDPA? Ever heard of that one? well if you follow the Whack! then yes you have, It stands for High Speed Downlink Packet Access and it's a new data service being offered this time by NEC and NTT. It should be up and running in the second quarter of 2006.

Speeds on this service will reach up to 3.6 Mbps. That's about 10 times what it is currently with NTT's FOMA service. The whole solution will be on display at the 3GSM World Congress scheduled to be held in Barcelona from February 13 - 16th, 2006.
