Movidity Announces movy.tv - YouTube for Cell Phones

Say hello to YouTube for mobiles. Movidity announced movy.tv, the world's first mobile video sharing site. Streaming of on-demand media will be made available to compatible mobile devices across the globe through the website.

All you need to do is upload video/audio to movy.tv, and it will automatically be transcoded by Movidity's mobile media system. The site will then allow users to access the media on a cell phone or PDA. If you are on a PC, the content will be available in Shockwave format.

Access is free, except if are looking for commercial or professional usage, where you have to go in for paid membership. Features supported by the site include private user groups, email / SMS notification, user referrals, media tagging, advertising injection among others.

The requirements on the phone are a basic browser and Java/MIDP2 capability. Simply download the client software from movy.tv and enjoy the media. The site movy.tv will be available in a limited form by mid-December, and will be open to general publich starting January 15, 2007.
