Motorola M-Wallet: Anywhere, Anytime PaymentEveryone's been planning to introduce it for a while, but it looks like Motorola will be the first to do so. Payment on the mobile is one of the obvious m-commerce applications that people have been talking about for a long time.

Motorola's new M-Wallet is their step in this direction. Announced today, M-Wallet features an easy-to-use interface that gives users secure access to their finances anywhere, anytime. This means you can pay your bills on time, or transferring money to someone in another country.

M-Wallet is the equivalent of carrying a debit card in your wallet. Both merchants and end-users securely access the network to conduct safe online transactions. The technology works with GSM/CDMA/iDEN networks and is compatible with Symbian, Pocket PC, Palm, J2ME, BREW and SimTk phones.

It is made of two components: the M-Wallet application that is downloaded by the consumers and merchants from the Internet, and the Wallet Service Center for administration and management of issuing credit/debit cards, coupons, archiving, etc.

The technology will be demonstrated at 3GSM in Barcelona Feb. 13 -16, 2006 at the Motorola booth, Hall 8, Stand A07.
