%20Motorola%20ic502-review.jpgThe Motorola ic502 which features both iDEN and CDMA frequencies has been reviewed by the good folks of Cnet. The reviewer gives the handset brownie points for its rugged design, its ability to access Nextel's Direct Connect network and were also impressed by the call quality of the handset. What they didn't dig was the limited feature set, its low-resolution display and interface which they called "jarring".

The Motorola ic502 is the first phone on the network to feature both iDEN and CDMA frequencies and supports Walkie-Talkie” and 1900MHz CDMA for making calls in Sprint network or CDMA roaming. One also comes across a 64k colors TFT (128 x 160) display and an external white STN 96 x 32 display. Other features include; GPS Enabled, SMS, Java Direct Send, Direct Talk, Walkie Talkie and 210 mins talk time.

In the end the website concludes "Though the Motorola ic502 successfully combines the Sprint and Nextel networks, its limited feature set and design peculiarities make it a poor choice for Nextel loyalists."
