Motorola and GSM Association Extend Partnership to ‘Connect the Unconnected'
For the second phase of GSM Association's emerging markets handset (EMH) programme, Motorola has been selected second time in a row, as the sole supplier of mobile handsets. The EMH aims to advance social and economic development of emerging markets through mobile communications.
Some of the key features being introduced by Motorola on the mass market phones (based on the C11x series) will be:
The latest handsets are the C113 and C113a, both targeted for Q1 2006.
The partnership between Motorola and GSMA is expected to give a significant boost to markets such as India, South Africa, Russia, Egypt, Philippines and Indonesia.
