MoBL-USB FX2LP18 phone[1].JPGCypress has just announced the world's first 1.8-volt high-speed USB 2.0 programmable microcontroller that downloads music files, photos and videos into your mobile handset, your PC or vice versa at extremly high speeds. Without high-speed USB, it would take up to 30 to 40 seconds to download files, but with one it would take about two to three seconds, depending on the cell phone architecture. The MoBL-USB FX2LP18 features a 1.8-volt core and supports an I/O voltage range of 1.8 V to 3.3 V. Its interface has been designed to be compatible with several generations of baseband processors, application processors, ASICs and ASSPs and uses Cypress's 0.13-micron C8â„¢ process technology. The device measures only 5 mm x 5 mm with 0.5-mm ball pitch and according to the company 80 times more cost efficient than other products.
