Mio C310x - the upgrade to the Mio C310

Were you holding back on buying the Mio C310 and waiting for the upgrade? Well, you don't have to wait any longer, because the Mio C310x is now out.

One of the key differences between the C310 and C310x is the additional supported viewing modes, including zoom/pan in 3D mode (rock!), pedestrian navigation mode and horizon tilt. The mapping software used in the C310x is Mio Map, which is a Mio-branded version of iGo, which is given a whole new UI.

As for the map database, it's the same: Tele Atlas. Pre-loaded maps on the C310x include 50 US states, Guam and Puerto Rico, and they've thrown in additional maps of Canada on the bundled DVD. The GPS device also plays MP3 audio.

The Mio C310x carries a price tag of US $149, making it one inexpensive GPS. It is available from Circuit City and Staples.
