In many places of the world, cell phone users have plans that allow them to make payments via their cell phones. Mexico is the next on the list of the many countries who have adopted this technological payment plan. This new program is the result of an agreement between commercial banks and major Mexican cellular telephone companies.

Even though cellular users throughout the country of Mexico have the potential to purchase anything via cell phone, a spending limit is in effect. So even though a Mexican can cell-phone pay a grocer or cabbie, the total bill must not exceed $25 USD. In order to get this limit higher, it is hoped that Mexico will more widely accept this program will be more in the next five years.
