Looks like with the impending Zune release, Microsoft is cooking new ways to stay ahead of its game! By that we mean it’s scheming to beat the pants of the omnipotent iPod! How will they achieve this Herculean task? Well read on my friends!

Every time a user sends a music file to a friend via the Zune’s Wi-Fi capabilities and the friend in turn purchases the song from the Zune Marketplace, then MS being the generous soul they are, will award the sender some extra brownie points! On liking the tune, a person would have no choice but to purchase the song which someone sends via Zune as it can be played only 3 times in 3 days before a prompt appears asking for a $1 fee. MS will not giver the original sender some hard cash (cos that would encourage materialism I guess) but will give him an unspecified amount of credits, which can be redeemed, on the Zune Online Store. Excited about this new concept? Well don’t be as of now its still a rumor and knowing Microsoft there is a slip between the cup and the lip!
