magellanrm2200-thumb.jpgThe Magellan RoadMate 2200T GPS Device is also a newbie and this one too sports a pretty compact body. The 2200T maybe compact but it’s a touch cookie as it carries the tag of being the “first rugged, expandable, advanced IPX4-waterproof car navi system under $500”. Thus the 2200T can pretty much be your best friend on your on and off the road expeditions.

The RoadMate 2200T functionality can be further enhanced via compatible topographic or marine software applications which can be loaded on a SD card. The 2200T impresses with its features like real-time traffic updates and rerouting capabilities. It also comes preloaded with maps of United States, Canada and Puerto Rico and has a database consisting of almost 2 million points of interest.

The latest offering by Magellan doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the multimedia capabilities and the 2200T includes a MP3 Player along with a Photo Viewer. Other features include; new user interface for easier navigation, Smart Detour, SayWhere(TM) text-to-speech directions and multi-destination routing. When it comes to accessories users can go for the rubberized, impact- and water-resistant Sports Guard(TM) jacket. The RoadMate 2200T should be available by this month and would retail for $499.
