Digital imaging authority Lyra will present a Webcast entitled “Pictures at Hand: The Burgeoning Camera Phone Market” on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at 2 p.m. eastern daylight time. It will be hosted by Steve Hoffenberg, Lyra’s director of consumer imaging research, and it will be followed by a question/answer segment.

The webcast sounds interesting. Here’s an interesting tidbit from the Lyra Press Release: “By 2009, the cumulative number of camera phones shipped since the inception of the camera phone category in this millennium will exceed the total number of all film and digital cameras shipped in the entire history of photography since the 1800s.”

Come on, are you trying to tell me that we will ship more camera phones by 2009 then we have shipped film and cameras…ever? Well, check out the Webcast at the time above and see. If you intend to watch it, you need to preregister at the Webcast banner on the Lyra website here.
