Linksys WRT54GX4 and WPC54GX4 MIMO-Based Products
Linksys annouced that their first batch of products based on MIMO technology (multiple input, multiple output) are available in the US. The new WRT54GX4 Wireless-G Broadband Router and WPC54GX4 Wireless-G PC Card offer increased wireless range, faster throughput and reduced dead spots.
WRT54GX4 Wireless-G Broadband Router
The WRT54GX4 is a 4-port switch with integrated Wireless-G access point, offering enhanced speeds and ranges. It provides for sharing an Internet connection and other network resources with wired (Ethernet), wireless-B and wireless-G devices. MIMO technology overlays the signals of two Wireless-G compatible radios, effectively doubling the data rate.
The router also features WPA encryption for protecting your data and privacy.

WPC54GX4 Wireless-G PC Card
The WPC54GX4 PC card, in conjunction with Linksys SRX400, combines smart antenna technology with the 802.11g standard for wireless networking. With SRX, the farther you are away, the more speed you can experience. The MIMO technology uses signal reflections effectively to increase the range and cut down on dead spots in the wireless coverage area.
Configuring the PC card is quite easy with the step-by-step wizard. It also features WPA encryption.
