LG's new dual-band CDMA cell phone, the VX8300, has formally been recognized by the FCC. At least from the phone's name, it seems to be a successor to the LG VX8100 - which is available from Verizon.

It won't be a surprise if Verizon pushes the VX8300 to its customers. Details are sparse on the FCC site (which is not unusual when manufacturers request short-term confidentiality). We do know that it's a black clamshell.

Check back here for further details. Additional info will be available soon from LG's website, and hopefully, Verizon.
