LG Showcases Several Phones at CTIA Wireless 2006

LG is showcasing several of their creme de la creme phones at the CTIA Wireless 2006. The prime player in the CDMA market and fourth in GSM phones across United States, it's no wonder that LG is looking toward a bright future in 2006.
The devices on show encompass a wide variety of much sought-after features, including video telephony, terrestrial DMB, quad-band and MMS. While not all the phones are not new (they have been around for some time now), it's interesting to take stock of what's available and what can be expected in 2006 and beyond.
If you are at the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center for the event, don't miss out booth #125 to catch a glimpse of these babies:
LG CU320:
The LG CU320, available for Cingular customers, was actually unveiled at the CES, and is Cingular's first UMTS phone. Complementing the 3G functionality is Cingular Video, Faster and Richer Media Net, as well as a 1.3 megapixel cam with flash.
You can record up to 25 minutes of video. Built-in memory can be expanded using a TransFlash memory card - also useful when you want to carry MP3s with you. Its multitasking ability allows you to send/receive messages while continuing to listen to music in the background.
LG3400:
LG3400 is a neat-looking lightweight clamshell, which gets the basics right.
It's got a melody composer - bring out the Mozart in you, if you wish. It also features a one-touch speakerphone.

LG350 and LG225:
One of the things you will immediately like about the LG350 is the speaker-independent voice recognition technology, which means you don't have to spend time training the phone. It's also got Bluetooth, making it convenient for handsfree operation.
The LG350 also comes with dual full-color LCDs, which is now becoming a standard I guess. Oh, and last but not the least, it boasts 3D gaming support!
LG claims that the LG225 has the right combination of functionality and performance. This sleek black clamshell offers a basic VGA camera and MMS support. But one of the most useful features is the inclusion of MSN Messenger on the mobile: you can now send and receive IM messages at your convenience.
LG550 and LG8300:
One of the high-end phones, the LG550 is a music phone and looks more like a portable stereo than a phone. Thanks to MicroSD support, you won't have to worry about running out of space on the phone for carrying your MP3s. The 1.3 megapixel CMOS camera takes care of your imaging needs and can be used as a camcorder as well. The automatic speech recognition engine is a useful feature. You can customize the phone using interchangeable faceplates.
The LG8300, on the other hand, has the capability to download songs thanks to its EV-DO support, while doubling up as your preferred MP3 player. The dual stereo speakers on the phone are an added attraction to audiophiles, while Bluetooth functionality ensures you are free from messy wires. It also features advanced voice recognition that leads to interesting uses with Simultaneous GPS.
LG Chocolate Phone:
The Chocolate Phone is something available only in Korea at the moment. This RAZR/SLVR look-alike is a slim, lightweight phone with touchpad buttons, MP3 stereo playback, and multitasking.
More details are available on all these phones from LG's website.
