The 2006 CES saw LG announce a wide variety of products, including the new LG JM53 portable media player. Available in a compact form-factor, the JM53 sports an 8 gig hard drive - good enough for almost 2,000 songs or 800 music videos.

The battery life of the JM53 is claimed at 30 hours, which is really good. Supported audio formats include MP3, WMA, ASF, and thankfully OGG. MPEG4 video playback is supported on the 260k color Organic LED (OLED) screen - a 1.77" wonder providing bright images.

Dimensions measure in at 3.9 x 1.9 x 0.55 inches, just a bit smaller than most cell phones. The unique three-dimensional user interface is very easy to use, and the index finger navigation looks appealing. An intuitive music management software is provided to control playlists.

Pricing has not been announced yet, and more information about LG JM53 portable media player is available from LG's website.
