LG CE500 Clamshell PhoneLG has a new music phone, the LG CE500, for GSM 850/1800/1900 networks in the US. The CE500 comes in a clamshell design and has an MP3/AAC player. Dedicated music access buttons on the outside allow easy access to the music.

The CE500 comes with a talktime of 7 hours, and standby time of an impressive 9 days. The screen is a 128x160 pixel LCD TFT running at 262k colors, while the external display is a 96x96 pixel 64k color display. While built-in memory is 4MB, the memory can be upped thanks to the included microSD mem card slot

The phone supports EDGE for high-speed internet access (WAP 2.0 is supported), while a POP3 e-mail client is included as well. A VGA camera is also provided (wonder why LG went for VGA on this one), and you can also take videos at 15 fps. A neat thing is the inclusion of IM software supporting Yahoo!, AOL and ICQ. Standard apps include Calendar, Calculator, Unit Converter among others.

The LG CE500 is releasing in Q4 2005.
