Lenovo Thinkpad X60s Notebook Review at XYZ Computing
The website XYZ Computing has done an in-depth review of the Lenovo Thinkpad X60s and gives it brownie points for its form factor, its overall performance and a number of nifty features. However they found the base hard to use and the onboard 512 MB RAM wasn’t found to be sufficient.
The X60s notebook is powered by an Intel Core Duo Processor L2400 (1.66GHz) and has an onboard RAM of 512MB. Sporting a 12 inch display, the notebook is equipped with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 and an 80GB Hard Drive. Weighing about 2.7 pounds connectivity options include; Intel PRO/Wireless LAN or ThinkPad wireless LAN and Bluetooth. Other features include; Shock mounted hard drive, integrated finger print reader, Wireless Wide Area Network integration, ThinkVantage Active Protection System, ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery, 4 Cell or 8 Cell Lithium-Ion battery option and Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2 OS.
The website in the end conclude “During testing the X60s performed up to all expectations, which were high given the product's price. It was extremely easy to move around, held up to the punishment of daily use, and it allowed for the type of mobile productivity that a high demand user requires. Through the testing it ran cool and offered trouble free performance, both of which are very nice given the problems so often associated with laptops. In the future it would be nice to see an improved base and more RAM, but there are not many notebooks which can compete with the X60s.â€
